This property is located in Minnesota, on a lake (like a lot of properties in Minnesota are). My client, who grew up in the area, was no stranger to the dated fishing cabins and bear decor that comes with the territory in a lot of these houses. But, instead of going beachy, we relied on the local area and what it had to offer when we moved into the design phase. From the story, we pulled lake birds like Herons, marsh and lake landscapes, and deciduous trees vs. palms, to really give guests a strong sense of place.

One of the upgrades that came up as something we wanted to include was a game room. And this is where things get interesting with the story.... because this area of Minnesota has a side of its past that is completely different and very far removed from happy families frolicking on the shores.
